Pilates is…

A system of movement and therapeutic exercise that was developed by Joseph H. Pilates, he called his method Contrology.

Contrology develops the body uniformly, corrects improper postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit.

Using a floor mat and specially designed equipment, Pilates emphasizes the core muscles of the body in order to keep the body balanced. Intent plays a central role in Pilates, and instead of endless and mindless repetitions, the methodology focuses on fewer, more carefully considered movements.

Whatever your age or level of ability, Pilates can dramatically alter your body’s appearance and performance.
